Roku Channel to Exclusively Stream Cartoon Network’s ‘Adult Swim Festival’ on September 23

On September 30, Roku announced that The Roku Channel would be the exclusive AVOD partner of the Adult Swim Festival, a three-part special featuring performances from Cartoon Network‘s live event held in Philadelphia in August. The special will be available to stream starting September 23.

This year’s Adult Swim Festival was presented by Run The Jewels, Tierra Whack and Dethklok and was held in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. Behind-the-scenes interviews include performers El-P and Killer Mike from Run The Jewels and Tierra Whack.

“This year’s Adult Swim Festival was especially special as it marked our return to live events and our first time bringing the festival to the East Coast,” said Michael Ouweleen, President of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network, in a statement.

The Roku Channel will also feature more than 120 episodes curated from more than 16 Adult Swim series, including “Vindicators 2,” the digital HBO Max animated comedy spinoff, “Rick and Morty,” the anime inspired by Rick and Morty. shorts and the Aqua Teen Hunger Force digital spinoff, “Aquadonk Side Pieces,” alongside episodes of the Adult Swim series. “Robot Chicken”, “Primal” and “Metalocalypse” by Genndy Tartakovsky, among others.

Roku’s licensing rights to Adult Swim continue Warner Bros.’ strategy. Discovery of outsourcing certain content to third-party platforms beyond its proprietary HBO Max platform.
