SHEBOYGAN, Wisconsin (AP) – The latest from Day 2 of the Ryder Cup (all time CDT):

Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas erased a three-hole deficit to tie Viktor Hovland and Bernd Wiesberger after 10 holes at the Ryder Cup.

Xander ScHotele and Patrick Cantlay are also on the return trail in Saturday’s alternative shootouts, which turned a 1-to-1 deficit ahead as they reached the corner against Lee Westwood and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Cantlay put the Americans ahead with a 25-foot bird putt on number 9, which he punctuated with a big punch.

With all of the players over the last nine, the United States had the lead in two of four games as they tried to extend their 6-2 advantage heading into day two of action.

Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia opened the day by losing the first three holes to Brooks Koepka and Daniel Berger, but regained a 2 lead after 13 holes.

The second day of the Ryder Cup is underway with the United States trying to extend their historic 6-2 lead.

Daniel Berger opened his day with a tee shot in the middle of the fairway to kick off the first game at four in the morning. Berger is paired with his former Florida State teammate Brooks Koepka against the Spanish duo of Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia.

The great basketball player Michael Jordan was present when the first match took place under a clear sky with a temperature of 48 degrees (9 Celsius). The maximum expected is 66 (19 C).

Rahm and Garcia were the only pair to win a match for Europe on an opening day that left the Europeans with their biggest day one deficit since the Ryder Cup was enlarged in 1979 to include players from across the continent.
