Homelander’s Twisted The Boys’ Obsession takes center stage in new art

Homelander’s weirdest obsession in the streaming show is getting the comic book treatment from one of the show’s original artists, Russ Braun.

Warning! Spoilers for The Boys comic and streaming series below

One of of the homeland the weirdest obsessions get the comic book treatment, as Russ Braun, one of the main artists of The boys, brings the love of Milk Supes in spooky new art. In the image, Braun plays Antony Starr’s version of Homelander from the Amazonian adaptation of the comic book series he worked on. The result is an image that captures the character’s bizarre nature and weirdest obsession.

Homelander is one of the most complex and ego-driven villains in The boys streaming series, where Antony Starr’s portrayal of the Supe has earned praise for bringing the utterly terrifying character to life. However, the comic book version, created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, of Homelander was quite different from the live-action adaptation. From not really having a romance in the comics, to having a clone specifically designed to kill him, and massive changes to his origin, the two versions of Homelander have significant differences. However, a key character shift in the series was Homelander’s obsession with breast milk, which was an incredibly weird (but effective) way to show off the villain’s infantilization fetish. Now that obsession is getting the comic book treatment.

Artist Russ Braun, who worked on 25 issues by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson The boys comic series, shared his take on Homelander’s milk obsession. The chilling image features Antony Starr’s version of the Supe drinking milk from a bottle with his tongue sticking out as the liquid spills over his face. Homelander’s art is in the style of Braun, although the character never obsessed over milk in the comics – as the quirky character trait was created to The boys streaming series.

The sketch on The boys’ Blank cover is Braun’s latest image showcasing Homelander’s live-action version of the creepy nature behind his incredible powers. Earlier this month, the artist captured what makes Antony Starr’s Homelander terrifying with a different piece. However, seeing Braun’s take on Homelander’s strange milk obsession is an even more twisted take on the hero of The boys artist.

Despite his extraordinary powers and menacing presence, seeing Homelander drinking milk, whether from a bottle or straight from the source, is still extremely unsettling. A grown man with so much power acting like a baby is deeply messed up. However, with Russ Braun’s new comic, his unusual obsession takes on a new look, which doesn’t make it any less bizarre. But what makes Country so captivating is that it marches to the beat of its own drum, which sadly includes the strange obsession with The boys.
