Be careful what you want in BLACKSMITH

When you’re 13, you’re always looking for more. You’re in that weird space between being a kid and being a little more independent as an older teenager / young adult. It doesn’t matter where you live or when, the onset of adolescence is confusing. And in Black-smith, Zoa’s desire for more, especially from the gods, leads her to take on far more than she can handle. At least at the beginning.

Created by Boredom (Undead), The supernatural Webtoons The series centers on young Zoa, a teenage girl already in charge of cleaning the temple and being kept away from the feast of the gods of her people. The temptation is too much as she spends time around a sacred relic that purportedly grants wishes to those who are permitted to make an offering to her.

Zoa is a little skeptical as she hasn’t seen many wishes come true in her 13th birthday, but she’s ready to give it a try. She steals the relic and brings it to her friends so they can also have a chance to get what they want. As she attempts to return the relic, all hell breaks loose in her house thanks to pirate raids. The relic begins to speak to her, offering to help her people and her home if she releases the entity within. What comes next is the last thing she expects …

The web series features a fun adventure story, interesting mythology, and even a bit of humor as Zoa’s coming-of-age story gets complicated. She learns more than important life lessons and how to be courageous. She sees how complex people can be and how monsters are created when the going is right.
