Amazon promises to fix Comixology after difficult integration

(Pocket-lint) – Amazon has admitted that Comixology’s migration to the retailer’s website and relaunch of the app hasn’t gone as smoothly as it had hoped. And that “the current experience must be improved”.

It shut down the original Comixology mobile app earlier this year and moved the online store to become a fully integrated part of Amazon’s retail site. However, a number of bumps along the way disappointed digital comics fans.

For example, we found that the new app didn’t remember our progress in a significant number of our own comics and series. Others have complained about the web playback client. While Amazon’s search returned incorrect content when searching for comics and graphic novels, including non-fiction books.

A lengthy thread on the official Comixology Twitter feed lists a number of fixes the team is working on.

The changes will include a way to filter comic content in the Kindle mobile app, either to display it more prominently or to hide it entirely.

Fixes will be rolling out in the “coming weeks”, so watch out for them.
