12-track auction for We Are Big Time by Hena Khan and Safiya Zerrougui
Hena Khan and Safiya Zerrougu sold their new medium quality graphic novel We are high time at auction, with twelve publishers bidding. Rotem moscovich in Knopf were the lucky winners and We are high time, inspired by a true story, follows Aliya, who joins an all-female, hijab-wearing basketball team, and explores her American Muslim identity while learning, alongside her teammates, to work as a team.
Hena Khan is the author of Amina’s song, Amina’s voice, more to the story, as the moon loves the sky, under my hijab, and more.
Safiya Zerrougui is a designer, character designer and illustrator based in Montreal, Quebec. She worked on the next DC Comics graphic novel Wonderful women in history as well as with HBOMax as a key artist and character designer.
We are high time will be scheduled for fall 2023. Hena Khan’s agent Matthew Elblonk at DeFiore and Company and agent of Safiya Zerrougu Paloma hernando at Einstein Literary represented the creators at the sale.
